  DancEduTRAIN
 


Programme Description

A modular programme that allows children of ages 4 – 13 to be educated and exposed to creative dance, movements, dance exercises/activities and basic skills in dance presentations.

Each module will be a 30-week programme across 4 terms (approximately 10 hours per 3 month term). In each module, parents are strongly advised to enroll their children on a continuing term basis so that their children can progress in the programme more effectively.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to children who have successfully completed each module.
  • Module DET1 – DANCE TOTS (4 – 6 years old)
    A creative dance programme for pre-schoolers and pre-primary children.Children will be introduced to creative movements and to discover the ways in which the body may express itself, alignment and the development of basic creative dance skills
  • Module DET2 – DANCE KIDS (7 – 10 years old)
    Advancement module for children who have underwent Dance Tots module.Key focus includes locomotors, non-locomotors and activities that promote teambuilding, body coordination and self-expression.
  • Module DET3 – DANCE TEENS (11 – 13 years old)
    The final module in DancEduTRAIN, children will be taught critical thinking skills through the creative processes of dance and movement, while developing self-motivation and self-esteem through participation in the various activities.

Programme Description

  • Module DAE1 – Primary school pupils
    A customised programme for primary schools that would like to introduce dance and movement to pupils as a niche programme.
  • Module DAE2 – Secondary school pupils
    A 2 to 4 year dance elective programme alongside with their academic curriculum in school, pupils will be exposed to creative learning via dance and movements that will enable them to relate to their academic studies more effectively.

Since 2001, this annual event will allow participants to immerse in creative sessions with our international guest artistes, and a better understanding of their choreographic processes. Past guest artistes include dance practitioners from Taiwan and Malaysia.

  Young Artists Project ( Community Classes)
 

 

Programme Description

All community programmes commence in January, April, July and October respectively.

This programme offers participants a unique range of structured classes designed to develop the individual, and combining expressiveness with technical ability. Creativity and independent thinking are also positively and consistently encouraged in all YAP activities.

 
 
  • Module YAP1 - Contemporary Dance
    Participants will be instructed on the basics of Contemporary Dance Techniques – development of suppleness, strength, coordination and kinetic awareness with emphasis on body movement. Participants will also be prepared to undertake advanced tasks in technical execution and dance improvisation / composition.
  • Module YAP2 - Modern Jazz & Hip-hop
    Participants are able to cultivate flexible rhythmic understructure and explore many different rhythms with your body , increasing movement vocabulary and proficiency.
  • Module YAP3 - Ballet
    Participants will be able to learn the refinement of basic movements and posture, enhancing muscle flexibility and strength, knowledge on ballet and dance history, improving variation and coordination.
  • Module YAP4 - Chinese & Ethnic Dances
    For both ethic and classical Chinese dance modules, participants will be instructed on the various basic techniques, postures and movements in Chinese dance, such as Shen Yun.
  • Module YAP5 - Body Conditioning / Alignment
    Participants will be able to engage in both floor and standing stretches, enhancing body alignment and balance.
  • Module YAP6 - Tap Dance
